Matteah Davis // Board Chair
Matteah (they/she) is WashPIRG’s State Board Chair, and the University of Washington’s Affordable Healthcare campaign coordinator. She is super excited to help train and organize students across the state and work with other states as state chair, and educate about and lobby for changes in healthcare accessibility. Matteah is a third year double major in political science and journalism + public interest communications. In their free time, you can find them reading about people falling in love, usually while listening to Taylor Swift.

Noquisi Christian-Smith // Board Vice Chair
Noquisi (they/them) is the chapter chair of the Evergreen State college chapter and the vice chair of the Washington state board. They work to organize and mobilize students statewide and on their own campus, addressing issues in the public interest. In their free time they can be found cuddling with their wiener dog with a good fantasy book in hand.

Sophia Pascente // Campus Organizer
Sophia works to recruit, train, and mobilize students across the state of Washington on public interest issues. Prior to joining the campus team, she worked as a Green Corps organizer in the class of 2023. Sophia lives in Eugene, Oregon, where she can be found hiking, biking along the Willamette, and cheering on Kansas sports teams.

Dan Xie // Political Director
Dan began her career in college as a student leader with CALPIRG, where she helped to bring high-speed rail to California. In her current role she directs the national political strategy for the Student PIRGs. She advises staff and students on strategic campaign plans and amplifies our work with coalition partners and at conferences. Dan has managed successful campaigns to cap global warming pollution, fight the high cost of higher education, and make voting more accessible for students. Dan lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she is an avid cyclist and climber.
